Our Mission
The National Human Resources Association is focused on advancing the development of human resources management professionals and strategic thought leaders throughout their careers. The mission of the Cincinnati affiliate is to Empower Strategic Leadership. Our vision for the affiliate is, "A commitment to growing a community of strategic HR leaders by providing relevant information, sustainable programs, and meaningful relationships.
Our Objectives
- Provide a forum of clear value-added education and development around cutting-edge human resources management ideas, knowledge, and skills to HR Executive Practitioners.
- Increase communication within the function across company lines by developing trusting relationships for confidential peer coaching and networking within the function.
- Support the executive perspective by developing other HR professionals as well as organizational leaders in human resource management.
We Need People Like You To Help Us Grow
The National Human Resources Association - Cincinnati Affiliate is now seeking individuals to serve in a leadership capacity on our board or in one of our committee roles. Many positions involve 1- 3 hours of work per month. Positions include:
Secretary: Take notes at affiliate board meetings and publish minutes; collect updates from board members and assemble for board meetings along with agenda, track board action items, route inquiries to the appropriate board member.
Membership Committee: Work with a team of professionals to build and manage NHRA membership. Includes the development of programs to attract and retain members, develop/recommend member benefits, develop and administer membership and location award programs, and membership reporting.
Programs Committee: Develop a dynamic program calendar aimed at building skills for HR professionals at all levels. Ensure quality programs are delivered on a monthly basis. Secure speakers, coordinate meeting locations, and special equipment. Issue meeting notices and track meeting attendance. Work with speakers to obtain summaries of presentations for NHRA Web Resource Center.
Sponsorship & Advertising Committee: Secure sponsors for NHRA national and/or local events to offset costs. Develop and implement sponsor benefit programs including publicity and web exposure. May also have responsibility for coordinating fundraising efforts. Solicit advertisers for NHRA website.
Webmaster: Update our website as needed content using a Microsoft Word-like tool. No special coding expertise required; we'll provide the necessary training.
Volunteer Coordinator: Follow up with new members who express an interest in serving in a board/committee capacity. Maintain volunteer listing, develop volunteer recruiting events/materials and participate in membership calls.
